Where We Are
As you can observe from the map below, Il Passetto Guest House
Rome is literally facing the northern wall of the Vatican City.
Just a short walk across Piazza Risorgimento and then straight forward,
brings you through a small forest of marble pillars, beyond which
you will find your self beholding the majestic and breathtaking
sight of St Peter’s Cathedral, from the immense circular Piazza
San Pietro in its wake. This is the very spot where his Holiness
the Pope gives mass to thousands of followers.
To find your way here, simply take the metro red
line to Ottaviano San Pietro. Exit the metro station and walk down
Via Ottaviano to Piazza Risorgimento, where you’ll find Il
Passetto next door to Banca Carige.
St Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican City and Il Passetto Guest
House Rome are all located on the west side of the River Tiber,
a short bus ride north of the trendy Trastevere neighbourhood and
a similar one south of the national stadium where Roma and Lazio
play soccer. A leisurely stroll along the spectacular Via della
Conciliazione from the front of St Peter’s brings you to the
Vatican’s protective fort, Castel Sant’Angelo and one
of several footbridges across the river.
On the other side of the river you’ll find such wonders as
Piazza Navona, Campo de’Fiori, the Pantheon, the Colosseum,
Circus Maximus, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and much much
more. |
